Something To Learn From Falling.

Falling hurts.
I think I can say that everyone has experienced this. It could have been falling right after you step out of bed, or falling out of a handstand, or just even losing balance and testing out to see if gravity still works! (I use this one a lot) :)
The point is we've ALL experienced falling.
The other day I dropped some water on the ironing board, I was just about to clean it up when all of the sudden I noticed how beautiful this accident actually was. So, I grabbed my camera and started capturing:
"little moment of beauty"

"Different perspective on life"

"Reflecting a mistake leads to beautiful lessons"

"simple joy"
That experience made me realize that making mistakes and falling are a way of learning, NOT failing. (If we constructively learn from those mistakes).
Now, there's another type of falling, a more deep down sense of falling; this is not as prominent but is also very important. We use the word mistake. Something that I've noticed is that we associate falling with failure. Let me explain, if we fall down, or up the stairs (as I seem to do a lot) we have failed at coming down, or up the stairs properly. Same with falling out of a handstand, we have failed to come out of it properly
But is falling really failing? Well, if you have ever been around a baby that is just learning how to walk that baby isn't going to walk perfectly, or run a marathon at that moment. That baby is going to trip, stumble, and fall. We understand that by falling, and stumbling that baby is learning how to walk. We understand this because we have gone through that very experience.
If we understand that then why are we so quick to judge people that fall, and make mistakes in life? Probably because we aren't perfect, we haven't experienced everything in life, and because we haven't experienced everything we can't empathize, sometimes with people who fall and make mistakes in life. This life is like learning how to walk, we are going to stumble, trip, and fall. There's only one person who knows what we are going through, He knows how we feel because He has gone through that exact experience.
That person is our Savior, Jesus Christ.
He took upon him the sins of the world, "He died not for men, but for each man. If each man had been the only man made, He would have done no less." C.S. Lewis
Falling is NOT Failure.
The mess that was created ended up being a moment of simple beauty. The same thing happens in our lives, we make little mistakes, sure it hurts but it's not the end; we learn from those mistakes and try not to do it again, but we cannot do it alone. We can sure try to learn by ourselves but it's not going to get us anywhere, we MUST team up with the one person who can empathize with everything, and anything we are going through.
"Because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we don't have to." Jeffery R. Holland

Falling is not fun, but it's essential. Failing hurts, but it's how we progress.
Just remember that nothing is ever lost with Christ,
"There is no grief, no pain, no sickness so great that the atonement of Christ and the love of Christ cannot heal." Ellen Yates
He loves, and understands each and every one of us.
Team up with Him and you're sure to WIN!
Remember who you are
and
Keep being YOU!

P.s. I just had to post this picture of the moon I took on the way back from St. George with my dad!
