Life's Storms

This may make no sense at all... but here are some thoughts on trials. :)
You know...
I have been thinking quite a lot about trials, and life's storms that each of us face. I went to an institute class today (which is a religion class for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) anyways, I was in this class and something we talked about just c l i c k e d in my head!
Don't you just love when you have those moments in life?!
Before I start I should probably share with you what I believe about trials. Trials are given to each of us to help shape us...they refine us to who we will become.
Ok. Have you ever gone through something that was super, super hard, or even a little bit hard and wondered, "why is this happening? What does this have to do with sculpting me as a person? What does this have to do with anything?"
I have asked these questions over and over again...
Something that I've realized is that trials come in our weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and in our sensitivities. We can have physical weaknesses, mental vulnerabilities, emotional sensitivities, and there are also spiritual trials.
Today I asked myself, What have I learned from my trials?
One thing that I have learned is obedience to the Lord's will.
Obedience is SO stinkin' hard sometimes! (a lot of the time)
I've learned that full trust in the Lord is needed  we can't just live life from day to day hoping that the Lord knows what he's doing.
In fact, You cannot just go through life holding on so tight merely trying to survive ... surviving is great, but surviving life's storms seems to me very reactive. It's kind of like we are reacting to the trials that come flying at us, but what would happen if, instead of reacting we decided to be proactive?
What would happen?
Don't wait for storm to pass quote:
What if we always sat and waited for the storm to pass?
Honestly, I have lived my life thinking that you have to survive the storms of life--with the best attitude possible, but still I have never thought about action in trials.
"Don't just s u r v i v e . . . T H R I V E !"
I guess what this post is all about is...be obedient, don't just hold on and wait...you have to ACT!
Be proactive during your trial!!!
My friends hold on,
be proactive,
Don't ever lose your SMILE,
&
Keep being YOU!

This reminds me of an analogy my Stake President shared with me about enduring to the end.

Imagine that the whole time you've been living your life so far you've been building this amazing sports car and you've accounted for fitting family and friends along the ride, and it's still an amazing ride. Once you get to the point where you've pretty much finished prepping for life and you hop into the big world, that's when you start to drive this car that you've been preparing for your whole life, and now you get to ride it! Now, you'll break down every now and again, as well as fine tuning it, but you get to go and enjoy all of life with some super awesome milestones along the way.

Thanks for sharing your messages and being amazing Briar! Keep it up and drive your sport car of life and enjoy the ride! :D
